Other April Fool's Observations

-Toon Zone did funny stuff for April Fool’s. They changed the names of their forums, for starters. The Anime Forum became The Godzilla Forum. The Adult Swim Forum became TEH INUYASHA FORUMZ. My personal faves were The Cartoon Network Forum becoming the Food Network Forum (and I like Food Network) and the Disney Animation Forum became something beginning with Senor Eisner. I also enjoyed the fake ad banners. Check out this link for some of their April Fool fun.

-The April Fool pranks on TV were lame. TRL tried to make their fans think that the poppy rock group Simple Plan had broken up (with the lead singer telling the audience the news via the phone). Tigger on Rap City did an especially lame prank when he said 106 & Park was cancelled and replaced by reruns of The Jeffersons. There were no pranks along the lines of Cartoon Network’s infamous Screwy Squirrel one where the network repeatedly showed the same Screwy Squirrel cartoon for the entire day. Then again, I’m not sure we’ll see a prank of that level again.

-The one thing I wish was a prank is the news that the voices behind The Simpsons have gone on strike to get more money. I’m all for them getting more money, as no one else could fill any of their shoes (they’d need 10 people just to replace Hank Azaria alone). I will have to say that they picked a perfect time to ask for more money as the show has started to rebound from the Mike Scully period. So, please FOX...give them more money. It’s not like you aren’t making money hand over fist in regards to this show.
