Jennifer Hudson--AKA Tamyra Gray Redux

It's official...American Idol is rigged. It was already shady the way that Ruben Studdard, who won last year's American Idol, was basically overshadowed by the ugly little muppet known as Clay Aiken. Then there was the first season elimination of Tamyra Gray, arguably the best singer in that season. Now, it's come to this...

The three people that supposedly had the lowest amount of votes all happened to be the three black women in the competition...who all gave great performances. The person who ended up getting ousted was Jennifer Hudson, the Chicago person who had actually gotten better and better in recent weeks. I think the Idol producers wanted to inject some shocks into the show and generate enough controversy to get more people to watch. At the same time, they reduce the chances that the winner of American Idol will be a black person for the second year in a row.

I also think that they consciously did some things to influence the votes. The biggest thing they did was show Fantasia's daughter. Why is that important? Fantasia is not married. So, let's see...how many people may have been suddenly turned off of Fantasia upon learning that she's a single mother with a child? I know it has been mentioned before, but this was the first time they showed her daughter in weeks.

After this, I now predict that Diana DeGarmo or Jasmine Trias will win it all. They have just enough singing ability to not be considered disappointments, in addition to being young, innocent teenagers. They'll finally get rid of John Stevens (who is this season's Nikki McKibbin...the one person who can't sing that great who miraculously continues to make it), and one more black female will get ousted before it's all said and done. It'll be down to George Huff and Diana/Jasmine in a virtual repeat of Season 1's showdown between Justin Guarini and Kelly Clarkson. Of course, George will have no chance against the young, teenage girl and he will be a gracious and unbelievably happy loser. You know, all of this almost makes me think that the Claymates were right to believe that the votes were tampered with...ALMOST.
