The legendary James Brown has died.

This is a huge loss for the world of music. Not only did James Brown revolutionize soul music, but his music was directly responsible for hip-hop. If he had not let early hip-hop artists sample his music, hip-hop probably would not have lasted as long as it has. He was a tireless entertainer and his influence will be felt in popular music for years to come.
