The Oscar Scorecard

Here's the tally, folks:

Best Picture: LOTR: Return of The King
CORRECT! This was the year for LOTR. Now all those fanboys can stop whining.

Best Actor: Bill Murray for Lost in Translation
WRONG! Sean Penn won for Mystic River. I completely forgot he had been nominated three other times before this, his first win. That trumps Bill Murray's first time nomination despite him being around for a long time.

Best Actress: Charlize Theron for Monster
CORRECT! It was destined. The question is will she make more money like Halle Berry or fade into obscurity like Hilary Swank?

Best Supporting Actress: Renee Zellweger for Cold Mountain
CORRECT! Yep, the Academy didn't make history. Damn shame.

Best Supporting Actor: Tim Robbins for Mystic River
CORRECT! Too bad his speech wasn't more controversial.

Best Director: Peter Jackson for LOTR: Return of The King
CORRECT! He's finished one impossible task...adapting Lord of The Rings for the big screen. His next impossible task is to make a good remake of King Kong. Good luck, Peter.

Best Original Screenplay: Lost in Translation by Sofia Coppola
CORRECT! With this, a filmmaker dynasty begins.

Best Adapted Screenplay: Mystic River by Brian Helgeland
WRONG! It went to LOTR: Return of The King. Damn that clean sweep.

Best Animated Feature: Finding Nemo
CORRECT! Maybe Disney will want to give another thought to negotiating with Pixar.

So, my score is 7 correct out of a possible 9. I didn't do too bad. Yay me!
