Pixar: Now A Division Of Disney

It's been rumored for a while and now it's really happening. Disney is buying Pixar Animation Studios for $7.4 billion. My only fear about this deal is that it might end up stifling Pixar's creativity. One of the main reasons why a lot of Disney's recent homegrown animated films haven't been that great is because of meddling by others at the corporation. Even with John Lasseter becoming Chief Creative Officer of the new, Disney-owned studio, if Pixar doesn't at least remain somewhat independent in spirit, the quality of their films could dip. If that happens, then Disney would end up in a situation almost as bad as the idea of Pixar working with one of their competitors.
