A Quarter Of A Century...

I'm 25 years old today, December 24th. It's funny...in some ways I feel sort of old and in some ways, I feel younger too. I feel sort of old because of my actual age. 25 is still young (hell, 45 is young these days) but there are times when I deal with my younger co-workers that I realize my age. At the same time, I feel younger for a number of reasons. For one thing, I'm still living at home and I don't really drive. That makes me feel younger...in a bad way. However, as I've mentioned before on my blog, a lot of the people I work with forget that I'm a few years older than they are. I guess that must mean that I don't look like I'm 25 years old and I guess that's a good thing.

In the end, I'm probably making too much of a big deal about turning 25. Besides, why even agonize over turning 25 when it's a blessing for me to have made it this far anyway? I shouldn't have to tell you about the plight of young black males and how blessed I am to have lived this long without so much as a traffic ticket to my name. If I look at it that way, then being 25 is a wonderful thing.
